Numbers. Numbers. Everywhere!

The book of creation, Sefer yetzirah, tells us:

"With 32 (33) pathways of Wisdom engraved YH (Yah),....And He created His Universe with three books (sefarim):

with TEXT (Sepher)

with NUMBER (Sephar)

with COMMUNICATION (Sippur)

You could say that YHVH, the Creator, is the OG Mathmatician! Numbers are very imporant in the Torah. The Hebrew letters each correspond to a number.

Have you ever read the Torah/Bible and seen all the different numbers that are repeating themselves. Like 40, Moses is on the mountain for 40 years, in the desert for 40 years.....you see

20, 50, 32, 33.....it goes on and on....

What did the Creator want to tell us with repeating numbers....well...like a parent repeating themselves to their child...the Creator, the Great Father, by repeating something is trying to get us to see something or learn something...He is trying to drive it home...He is saying "Hey! Do you see that repeating pattern in the Torah/Bible...look at it. Ask the question?

Then we ask the question? What is the number telling us? Is there more to understand about the number?

I found a chart in a teaching by Baal HaSulam, which is Rabbi Ashlag. I wanted to share the chart with you. The next time you are seeing numbers in the Torah and you want to know more than the literal read on why that number means...do this.

1. Go to kosher websites for "Gematria" or numerology explanations. There are books also you can buy to help. Do a simple study on "Gematria" and what it is.

2. Look up the number in question and see what it corresponds to in the Torah

3. Use the list below to see at what level in the Tree of Life of Creation the numbers are referring to. Now I know many will not understand this deeper teaching. But if you don't know, you need to .....join our classes and learn more!

Now here is the chart!

Units 0-9 you are in Malchut (Nukva/Kingdom/Daughter)

Tens 10-90 you are in Z.A. (Zeir Anpin/Heaven/Son)

Hundreds (100-900) you are in Binah (Ima/Understanding/Mother)

Thousands (1,000-9,000) you are in Chochmah (Abba/Wisdom/Father)

Tens of Thousands (10,000-90,000) you are in Arich Anpin (Long Face)

Hundreds of thousands (100,000-900,000) you are in Atik Yomin (Ancient of Days)

Now lets see an example...

"And Adam lived to be 930 years old..." they lived longer in those days...is how we explain it to our children and to ourselves...what is those days? Why did they live longer...? Actually it is telling you where their Soul Root is connected. For Adam it is in Binah! This upper world and force that you learn about in Kabbalah. It is a place in the Blueprint and Reality of Creation itself.

Now these are deep teachings....regardless..I hope this chart helps our students and newcomers...to better understand that the numbers in the Torah are representing very deep things....
